Light Festival

This Christmas we will celebrate the Light Festival! From December 20, 2019 to January 5, 2020, the museum will be decorated with thousands of lights. Outside there will be all kind of activities for the whole family, including a Christmas market and crafts. We proudly present the highlights this year:

 

Largest nativity scene in Europe

The largest nativity scene in Europe is being rebuilt! This is a spectacular diorama with lifelike figures that depict all kinds of symbolism.  The various villages, the waterfall and the lively setting ensure that the scene really comes to life.

Unique nativity scenes

Including a large collection nativity scenes out of cardboard and exhibition 'follow the star'.

Old crafts market

The cozy villiage comes to live with all kinds of old crafts, the blacksmith, the basketmaker, the woolspinner and many others show their skills and sell their products.    

Music performances

Live music of different kinds including ofcourse the Christmas choires.

Christmas marble run

Youtuber Jelle’s Marble Runs shows off his work with a gigantic Christmas-themed marble run, packed with sounds and lights! 

Christmas TikTok presentation

TikTok? This is an app for short movies which is really poplar amongst teenagers.  We will show you the best Christmas themed clips! 

Painting a Rubens

We will work together to make a really large replica of one of Rubens famous paintings 'Adoration of the Magi', come and paint a piece of this record-breaking canvas.

Extra evening openings on December 21, 22, 28 and 29, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Welcome to Museumpark Orientalis – Heilig Land Stichting! Here the colourful world of Judaism, Christianity and Islam comes to life. Architecture and nature meet in this museum, which stretches out over 30 hectares.
